Why the Blog?

Sure, it’s old school. Takes me back like an i-pod (I sitll have mine!) A blog just feels more personal. I’ve been on instagram for years, but always hesitate to be part of it. A blog feels a little more independent. I will still post to both, but I hope to make the blog the more consistent one.

I’d like to be more playful here. Show the behind the scenes of a project, or showcase artwork that doesn’t yet fit into any of my established categories on the website. Like the abstract piece shown here. I love making these, but it’s new to me and I don’t have enough of them to create a full page.

I explore a lot, so that’s what will live here. And it won’t just be illustration. I love to embroider, sew, write, and lately I’m getting back into my oil paints again, too. A blog will be the perfect place for all of this extra creativity.
