A trip to Washington State

I love to travel. And my favorite thing to do while traveling is to observe take photos, then draw from them into my sketchbook.

Our trip to Washington State was beautiful. One of the days we hiked out to the coast on a very gloomy day (which is excellent for photography). My main goal was capturing all the magical little tide pools. The colors are just stunning: olive greens, forest greens, and pale pinks. All the different seaweed textures… gorgeous!

I also captured a pic of my two favorite muses: my son and husband. It shows both of them having their own moment connecting with the ocean. We all agreed that this day was our favorite outing of the trip. I painted this as a gift to my husband.
